How do you lead yourself well? In this message from 18 October 2026, Pastor Dr. Dideolu Olufelo-Adewale continues the Spirit of Excellence series with practical teaching on self-management: the intentional stewardship of our thoughts, time, body and gifts. This page embeds the message-only recording, including the opening prayer.
Excellence is not decoration or appearance alone. Drawing on Daniel 6:3–4, the message connects an excellent spirit with consistent, disciplined choices and faithfulness in everyday responsibilities. Prayer belongs alongside learning and developing the skills needed for our work.
Luke 12:42–43 introduces the faithful and wise steward. The sermon invites us to treat our lives and responsibilities as something entrusted to our care. Galatians 5:22–23 places self-control within the fruit of the Spirit, while Proverbs 25:28 compares a person without rule over their spirit to a city without walls.
The first practical focus is the mind. Deuteronomy 6:5 and Mark 12:30 encourage wholehearted love for God; 2 Corinthians 10:5 informs the invitation to examine our thoughts in the light of Scripture. The message asks us to pay attention to what we read, watch, listen to and repeatedly dwell on, and to respond through prayer and thoughtful daily choices.
The recording then turns to physical stewardship: caring for the body, rest and energy needed for our responsibilities. It ends during this section rather than at the conclusion of the teaching. These notes summarise the available recording and do not claim to be a complete transcript or medical advice.
